Less congested roads through mobile phone transport management

It is the last day of the Mobile active 08 conference today October 15 and this morning, Pieter Henning, for the KwaZulu Natal Department of Transport (KZN DoT), presented an interesting possibility of using mobile phones to form lift clubs that will provide transport opportunities for those commuters who do not have cars.
Mobile technology improves quality of life for HIV positive people

Mobile phones are an asset for communicating health issues in Mexico, where a group of forty people -- some living with HIV and Aids -- have been able to interact with each other through group messaging, offering advice on medication and other HIV related issues that they face on their daily lives. This was shared in a mini talk about the use of group messaging for social change, delivered by Anne Kidd.
